Here we have my "Teen's Inspired" piece. Whooo. It is based off of Claude Monet's "The Cliff, Etretat, Sunset". I used markers, a pencil, and a ruler to create this. i hate this piece so much. wow. i should have just left it with a white background. Regret. anyway, on to the measurements!!!!!! length: 12 inches width: 8 inches coolio
ok serious time "How I was inspired..." Monet is a magnificent artist, and I have always appreciated his work. When I came across this piece, I took notice in the use of light strokes, and pastel pigments. I am always looking at life in abstract, finding it easier to come up with ideas to share my style or work. I immediately thought of making something that resembled it, and use vivid colors and adjacent angles instead. The structures of the piece are obviously made to represent the abstract version of Monet’s cliff. The patterns on the said structures, are of my own style. The scribbles in the background were a bit rushed and thrown onto the paper. I wanted to incorporate the original somehow, and in retrospect, I should have used something softer than a sharp tip of a marker. However, I used light grey, pink, and yellow to bring in the paints used by Monet. I also added blue and purple to add a more Monet-ish touch to it. I regret this decision, but what’s done is done. I'll just have to accept it as it is.
